Little Fireman

It's been a while since my last posting so I thought I'd post a few photos I took of Patrick this morning. The Arvada Fire Department asked if they could park their trucks in our parking lot while they came up with a plan of action for the town homes next to our complex. The town homes next to us have been built for at least 5 years, but the fire department just decided today that they aren't sure how they would get water and trucks to them if there was an emergency. Anyway, Patrick is a huge fan of fire fighters and fire trucks so he was happy to see three fire trucks parked out in front of our house. The fire fighters were really nice and gave Patrick a tour of their truck and a little trading card with a photo of the truck he got to climb on.
He's been playing fire fighter all day since.

I can't see my toes...

So here I am at 32 weeks today. I had another ultrasound where we learned that yes, he's still a boy. He's perfect as far as the doctor can tell and he seems to weigh 3 lbs 14 oz according to the computer's measurements of his head, stomach and femur bone. The doctor said "He's not too big, not too little. Right in the middle. Looks good."
After many requests here is an updated photo of my baby belly. I'm wearing the same shirt as my 20 week photo that's on the background to my blog.
Patrick is such a smart little man and likes to tell me during meals that "Mommy eats and baby Danny gets bigger, bigger. Mommy's tummy gets bigger, bigger!"
He's right...and I can't see my toes...

We have a date!

Here's a quick baby update. Tomorrow I will be 31 weeks pregnant. I had an appointment this morning with "the new doctor" where I found out a couple of things. First, I'm slightly anemic so I have to start iron supplements for the duration of the pregnancy. Second, babies heart rate was around 127 but he kept squirming so it was difficult to get a good reading of him. It's a compleatly normal heart rate, although, I think it's really low because Patrick's HR was always around 160. Maybe the baby will be a more mellow child than Patrick? I doubt it! The biggest news is that we have officially scheduled the date of the c-section!
Tuesday, August 18th at 9am.
It's a day earlier than we had originally planned but we have to go with whatever the Dr. has available. My next appointment is July 28th for my 36 week appointment.
55 days and counting until he arrives...unless the baby makes his own plans!
I'll post more photos and updates soon. Patrick is sleeping so I think now may
be a great time to take a nap!

Summer fun!

Yippee for summer! Today is the first day of several that it hasn't rained so far. Knock on wood...because I know that it's going to down pour for me saying that!
This morning I was looking forward to taking Paddy over to the Arvada Library in Olde Town to return a few books and then let him play in the water fountains they have outside. It's a free way to let the kids cool down in the summer and is usually packed with kids running and playing.

Once we arrived I learned that Arvada is having problems with their filtration system and keeping the water sanitary so the fountain is closed and may stay that way all summer! BUMMER! So, we had to do the next best thing....find a water toy he can play with outside.

Here's my new favorite thing of the week: Arctic Splash Water Table by Step 2

I really wasn't wanting to get him a pool that I would have to inflate every time he wanted to use it, and keep in mind we don't really have much yard area for sprinkler toys. This table is perfect for our deck and he can splash and play in water for hours outside. The only problem was trying to convince him to come in for nap time!

Camping at Glendo

This past weekend we met my parents at Glendo Res. for a fun weekend of boating and camping. Besides us there were Scott, Amber and Eli; Uncle Scott, Trisha and Chris; Uncle Rand, Mom, Dad and Megs.

Saturday Mom and Dad rented a 26' Pontoon boat that I've now added to my "wish list" of things to own someday. It was a blast! It held up to 18 people so we all were able to pile on and enjoy the lake all day. It was great to be back on a lake, which is one of my favorite things do to, although I wish I were able to go tubing as well. There's always next year. Patrick LOVED riding the tubes with Megan and Sean and thought it was fun when he was able to steer the boat with his Daddy and Grandpa.

Here are a lot of photo's of a fun weekend!

Our camp. I love how big Glendo's campsites are. It was nice!

Patrick is exactly like me. Loving wind in his hair, speeding across the water.

Such a polite boater waving at everyone passing by.

Rockin' the Nemo goggles.

He's not really a fan of S'mores. He liked to light the marshmallows on fire and eat

the chocolate.

Yum!

I couldn't resist. He is so cute when he's sleeping. He slept right

through the crazy hail/thunder storm we got.

Getting ready to head out on the pontoon!

"Hi Mom!"

Megs the ROCKSTAR.
Eli enjoying the ride.

Patrick tubing with his Auntie Moo.

Of course my dad drove slowly with him on the tube

and he LOVED it!

Uncle Rand caught this Walleye while we were boating.

This was a very tasty fish! Yum.

10 weeks and counting...

Is it just me or are the days flying by? I'm 29 weeks pregnant today and we are officially counting down the last 10 weeks of pregnancy. We will find at my June 23rd checkup if Danny will make his grand entrance on August 19th or August 22nd (unless he decides to come before then).

I found out a couple of weeks ago that my doctor, who is pregnant with twins herself, is on bed rest and will no longer be able to continue my prenatal care, which we are really bummed about. I've already put my life in her hands once with my first c-section and surgery with Patrick went perfectly. So I'm sad she won't be able to be there for this one. However, we love her and hope all the best for her and her two little ones. We will be seeing a doctor from her team from now on. At my next appointment we will find out which day in August the new doctor is available....so I'll keep you posted as soon as we know.

I realized today that I need to take another photo of the basketball that was once my stomach. (You know, because someday I'll want to remember what I looked like 15lbs fatter!) I'll get one taken and hopefully posted tomorrow after my haircut appointment. I'm thinking about going short...hmmm...

The last two days have been a little lonely. Sean has been in Salt Lake since yesterday working a trade show for Rockstar. Although I must say that Patrick was my angel today. Maybe because he took a 3 1/2 hour nap this afternoon?? In this quite house I've been working on my website for PADDY CAKE BABY and now my blog. The website should hopefully be finished with updates by next week. Now that I'm not working as much at the dental office my main focus, OK second focus behind child rearing, is selling blankets. I have a long list of boutiques from several states that I will be contacting as soon as the site is perfect. If you know of any cute places that may want to carry Paddy Cake Blankets let me know!

Alright, enough rambling for one night. I guess I didn't have anything with much importance to say. Thanks for reading.

Memorial Weekend Camping!

For Memorial weekend we decided to head for the hills and go camping at Lake Dillon along with Sean's brother, Jim, and his girlfriend, Lisa. It was really nice to get away for a couple of days, sit next to a beautiful lake surrounded by mountain views and enjoy nature.

Patrick got his first fishing pole this year. We had taken him to Bass Pro Shop and let him pick one out and he was very excited to go fishing with his Daddy and Uncle Jim. I'm still very impressed on how quickly he learned to cast and reel in his bobber that he calls his Bob.

I had to video him casting because he is actually very good for his first time.

They caught about 20 fish, although so many of them were too small and we ended up keeping and bringing home 9 of them.

Here are a few photos of our weekend:

"Look at the fish, Mom!"

"Listen! I hear a goose!"

I enjoyed reading and taking the photos.

Making sand castles!

Ernie, Katy and Matthew drove up to the lake on Sunday.

Sleepy guy on the way home. What you can't see is how dirty he is! It was rainy and muddy at our campsite but we had a good time anyway.

We look forward to our next camping adventure.

As far as baby news goes, everything is still great! I'm 27 weeks along now and counting down. Only 12 weeks to go!
